Project #4

AI-Powered Pipeline for Gemstone Media Production

Client Leading online gemstone retailer Year 2025

Every gemstone in the retailer's inventory required a media professional to manually edit its turntable video from scratch. We built a desktop application that reduces that work from 30–40 minutes per stone to approximately 2 minutes — while keeping the operator in control of the decisions that require a human eye.

The Challenge

Processing a single gemstone turntable video meant manually selecting the correct rotation loop, choosing the best keyframes for each view, correcting color and saturation while examining the physical stone, orienting the gem, and applying sharpening. Each stone took 30–40 minutes. With a large and growing gemstone inventory, the workload was impossible to scale with the existing team.

What We Built

A desktop application that automates every step of the workflow. It automatically extracts clean rotation loops, selects the optimal keyframes (front, back, and angled views), applies orientation correction, and presents the operator with a gallery of color and saturation variants to choose from — rather than asking them to fiddle around with color corrections sliders.

  • Automatic rotation loop extraction with user override
  • Automatic keyframe selection — front, back, and angled views
  • Gallery of 25 color-corrected variants and 25 saturation variants for operator selection
  • Automatic orientation correction with manual override
  • Sharpening controls
  • Full parameter save and recall for reproducibility

Color correction is deliberately kept human-controlled. The system generates intelligently varied options — the operator makes the final perceptual call.

The Result

Processing time dropped from 30–40 minutes to approximately 2 minutes per gemstone — a 90–95% reduction in hands-on operator time. The backlog was eliminated. The team now produces consistent, high-quality gemstone media at scale without expanding headcount.
